What are the benefits of a vinyl pavilion?
Vinyl pavilions are a popular choice because they offer the appearance of a finished outdoor structure with very little maintenance. Unlike painted wood, vinyl won’t need regular painting or staining and is resistant to rot, insects, and weathering. It’s an excellent option if you’re looking for lasting beauty with minimal upkeep.
Is vinyl better than wood for a pavilion?
Vinyl and wood are both excellent materials, but they offer different advantages. Vinyl is a great choice if you want a pavilion that won’t need regular painting or staining and is easy to maintain over time. Wood offers the warmth and character of natural lumber and can be painted or stained to achieve a specific look. The best choice depends on your maintenance preferences, style, and budget.
Do I need a permit for a vinyl pavilion in Indiana?
Many Indiana communities require a permit before installing a permanent vinyl pavilion, though requirements vary by municipality. We recommend contacting your local building department before your project begins. You’ll also need a properly prepared concrete pad or structurally sound wood deck before installation, and Sunrise Structures can provide structural drawings upon request if they’re needed for permitting.
