It gives you the creative freedom to select an option that matches your backyard and intended use, so it is better to weigh those factors alongside cost, rather than focusing solely on price, when choosing a shed style.

How Much Does a Shed Foundation Cost?
A foundation is the most important investment you’ll make towards the longevity of your shed. There are several options to choose from, and the one that is right for you depends on several factors. Since the decision can be somewhat complex, we’ve created a helpful guide to determine the best shed foundation for your specific needs.
Most shed foundations are either gravel or poured concrete. Gravel pads are the most affordable, typically costing $6 to $10 per square foot, while poured concrete ranges from $10 to $20 per square foot. Of course, which option you’ll choose depends on the site you plan to place your shed, structural needs, building code, HOA requirements, budget, and more. You can learn more in our shed foundation guide.
If all this seems complicated, you can leave the foundation to us! We offer two site options:
- This option consists of 4-5 inches of limestone on top of sod or dirt, leveled off, and can cost anywhere from $1,400 to $2,500.
- The second option is a wood frame foundation, which is placed 4-5 inches deep in sod, filled with limestone, compacted, and leveled with your grass. This provides more support, but is slightly more expensive, averaging $1,700 to $3,200.
Both of our foundations promise stability and years of use. Read more about our site prep process here!
